The Good, The Bad, and The In-Between
Hi there! How have you been? I hope you're doing well.
First of all, thank you for checking out this post. It's not going to be a review or something informative, so feel free to exit or look around the blog if I'm already boring you (hehe). If not, yay ❤️ Be my guest.
If you’re new to the blog, welcome! I’m Andi. I write about different things such as food, travel, lifestyle, and anything between those.
The Good, The Bad, and The In-Between
The Good
My mornings have never been the same after the pandemic and after overcoming our traumatic experiences. I value each day more now- no matter how awesome or dreadful they get. So, if I'm having a great day, I enjoy it, take photos, and savor the joy. When I feel so-so, I watch a sci-fi movie or a chick flick and treat myself to something sweet. When I'm down, I allow myself to feel upset or frustrated, then bounce back. Ganun lang. It is easier to keep your grace under pressure and make the most out of the best moments when you're at peace with life's different phases.
From being a creamy coffee devotee, I have now learned to love Black coffee, and it's all thanks to Mama. One afternoon, while I was at a coffee shop, I decided to swap my usual Mocha for an Americano paired with cake- this was out of curiosity since this is what my mom would usually get. I didn't realize until then that it tasted delicious (it's satisfying to taste the cake slowly melting as you sip the coffee).
How about you? Do you like your coffee dark, medium or creamy? ☕
The Bad
The thing about trauma is that it takes time to heal. When my husband and I got caught amid the crazy commotion of my warring in-laws, it was beyond painful. It wasn't fun taking the fall for them and being in the middle with all the constant push and pull. They were intense- their dynamics were very unhealthy on a different level, and it was hard because they hurt us badly, especially my FIL. So what do you do when the pain is too much to bear? You express yourself, pray, rest, smile, and power through 💪
If you're not in a good place in your life right now or have inner battles that you're facing, I hope you do not let the cruelty of other people or the world take away your smile. Stay away from drama or people who bring negativity into your life, and do what you must do. Life is short.
The In-Between
We all have our in-between days; those that are not necessarily dull, but also not that exciting. To some, this may mean finishing a project that's been going on for months, having nothing interesting to do, or feeling stuck. As for me, the in-betweens include rainy moments when I feel like slowing down, late-night client-hunting, or cleaning the house while listening to music. The in-betweens are relaxing, too. I think I'm more aware of my surroundings during these days. I appreciate what I have more when there's not much going on.
I love the Pork Century Egg Congee from Wu's Kitchen. It's very filling, and it tastes yummy with toyomansi and chili garlic. You can also have it with dumplings on the side.
Before I end this post, let me share this photo I found on Pinterest, "The Real Luxuries" 💚
Okay, so that's it; the good, the bad, and the in-between. Have a nice day, and I hope you stick around 💜
