The Best Dad in the World | Happy Father's Day

This week, we celebrated my dad’s birthday! 🎉 I'm happy and grateful because he’s glad, healthy, and well.

My father is my first love and my greatest hero. He’s one of my biggest inspirations in life (along with my mom, my husband, and my sisters).

The Best Dad

Papa’s not perfect; he commits mistakes like the rest of us and has his flaws, but he’s the best dad in the world. We have a lot of childhood and adulthood memories to prove that. For the sake of not making this post lengthy, I’m only going to share with you some of my favorite things about him.

His commitment to give us a wonderful family life

As kids, we witnessed how much he took care of our mom, even with his busy schedule as an entrepreneur. He’s still as caring as ever, sometimes a bit too much hehe, but that doesn’t surprise us because mama was the reason why he returned to the Philippines back in the day and settled down in Manila. He moved from Cebu to here because mama is from Pasig. He turned down a good employment opportunity overseas to be present in her life as a husband, and eventually, in our lives as a father. 💖

We saw how he sacrificed a lot when we were kids to give us a wonderful life, and by that, I mean a simple, comfortable life we all enjoyed. Simple pero masaya at buo. He never spoiled us with material things. He'd buy us nice gifts during special occasions, but he gave us quality time and attention more than anything else.

His wisdom

My father is a wise man, which is why I look up to him and the way he goes about life and handles situations. Papa is also my biggest influence when it comes to learning about the mind and the marvelous things it can do. He loves new thought philosophy and spends a lot of time reading titles from Napoleon Hill, Norman Vincent Peale, Charles Haanel, Joseph Murphy, and the like. He does his best to apply it regularly in his life, too. He sometimes has his temper, but he believes in people; that's why I believe in people. Lastly, he is a good singer, cook, and handyman. Minsan feeling ko dapat binabayaran na namin sya sa dami ng inayos nya hahaha. It was mostly through his actions that my sister and I learned from him (and mama). Masipag at madiskarte si papa kahit makulit. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. We appreciate that he does a lot, makes things work, and keeps our family together. 😸

His listening ear and unconditional love

We are so thankful to have a father that listens to us and our concerns. I appreciate this because some dads talk endlessly without paying attention to what their sons or daughters have to say, not realizing they want to be heard as well. Papa is like a brother and a friend. I can talk to him about anything without feeling awkward or shy. As in kahit mga kahiya hiyang kwento hahaha. I can tell if he's uneasy, though (pag kumukunot na yung noo). We also agree to disagree on a few matters. He allows me to be my own person, with my own opinions. 🌸

A father's love

Of course, like many good fathers, papa’s love for us is unconditional. We feel, see, and know that. He's also forgiving and kind. He's simply the best dad in the world. Happy Birthday to my dear dad! And happy father's day to all the father's day reading this. Araw araw daw ang father's day kasi walang day-off ang pagiging tatay.

Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad.

I guess that would be all for today. Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great week ahead! Make sure to subscribe on the homepage and check out other posts.

Stay safe always. 💚
