Styling your Space for Summer
With summer fast approaching, it’s time to prepare and do some cleaning. It’s never a good idea to welcome the bright, sunny weather with a dusty, unorganized house. Below are three simple tips that might be of help if plan to style your home for summer.
1) Pick a Theme
Select a theme that best fits your personality or the collective vibe of everyone in the house. Examples you can try are the following: fresh bohemian, tropical glam, or clean coastal.
For bohemian style lovers, you can make all the difference in your home by using light, flowy curtains, as well as adding succulents and decorative materials such as printed fabrics, soft rugs, crystals, and scented candles for that homey bohemian vibe. You can also work on some cool DIY projects, most of which have easy tutorials online.
For those who enjoy both the tropical and glamorous vibe, a mix and match of large plants and stylish decor will do the trick. Hints of gold and glitter can also give your house that extra sparkle that it needs.
Lastly, for those who prefer the clean coastal look, just think Blue and White. You can also opt for Aquamarine if you like. To achieve this, you will have to create more space in the major areas of the house, such as the living room and the front yard, by removing unnecessary items. Then, from there, you can start throwing in your crisp White curtains and ocean-colored throw pillows to complete the look.
2) Involve those who are living with you
It sure is fun to get creative and express yourself through the way you style your home, but if you’re living with your spouse and your kids, it would be nice to get them involved in the process. I’m sure you don’t want anyone in the house complaining about the table centerpiece or the living room curtains, right? Plus, styling your space with your loved ones is such a great bonding idea! If you’re alone, then the house is all yours.
3) Take advantage of nature’s gifts and prepare your summer playlist
Open your windows; let the light in and allow the natural breeze to bring that real summer energy into your home. You can also start getting in the whole summer mood by updating your summer playlist and playing songs that put you in a great vibe. Thankfully, there are plenty of playlist options on YouTube; you just have to pick your genre. Below are classic few feel-good songs you might like (most of which are my personal favorites):
Ever After by Bonnie Bailey
Green Eyes by D'Sound
On Ne s'aimera Plus Jamais by Larusso
Leave the Door Open by Bruno Mars
Levitating by Dua Lipa
Luxurious by Gwen Stefani
So Good by B.O.B
It's Like That by Mariah Carey
Wordplay by Jason Mraz
Once you're done redecorating your home, remember to keep it clean. Cleanliness always look good!
