Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur | Complete Guide + Review

Writer's picture: Andi Dela Torre GriffithsAndi Dela Torre Griffiths

If you’re still looking for places to add to your Malaysia itinerary, you should include Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur- a beautiful attraction where you can enjoy luge rides. This activity is for all ages.

The attraction opened in 2023, so it was still new when we visited. It's inside Gamuda Luge Gardens, a family park where the rides and the luge tracks are.

Where to Find Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur | Address

The name says Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur, but it is actually in Rawang, Selangor (a different state). Geographically speaking, Kuala Lumpur is still within Selangor, so that may explain why.

It only takes 20-30 minutes to get here if you're coming from the city proper.

Address:

Jln Gamuda Luge Gardens, 48050 Rawang, Selangor, Malaysia

Operating Hours:

10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (unless there is a public holiday)

If you plan to buy tickets on-site, please note that they stop selling an hour before closing.

Booking Information | Where to Get Tickets

You can buy your tickets upon arrival, but it would be better to get them beforehand. The line for walk-ins was long when we went. Our online booking saved us time (and earned us a few points on Klook).

There was a separate lane for online bookings. We just went there, had our code scanned, claimed our passes, and then got in. Hassle-free!

The Experience | What to Expect When You Visit Skyline Luge

We were happy to see how beautiful the park was. There were no buildings in sight, just big spaces to move around. There were food trucks, restaurants, and an ice cream store. We're lucky it was a lovely, sunny day.

The place is massive, and there are outdoor seating areas where you can wait for your turn. You can see the Skyride vehicles from here.

Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur | Review and Photos

You can start queuing five minutes before your scheduled slot. But before that, you should get your helmets first. If you want to purchase your photos after the ride, keep the helmets- these have bar codes that you can scan to see your pictures during the ride.

Skyline Luge Skyride

The Skyride is the open cable car ride that takes you to the lanes; this is relaxing and enjoyable because you can see everything from up here. It also swings a bit. They don't allow the use of phones, but they are not strict with it either, so many people still take photos. I'm amazed at how others can take good selfies even at that height, especially the youngsters! We only took one because we didn't want to risk dropping our phones hehe.

The Viewing Deck

After the Skyride, you can go straight to the luge lanes or take photos on the deck first. I suggest staying for a few minutes on the viewing deck because they offer such clear views of the surrounding mountains and forests (which you don't always see in the city). You can also watch the sunset.

The Luge Lanes | Quick Orientation

When you’re ready, you can start picking your lane based on the level you want to try. There are four levels to choose from: Legend, Ultra, Gravity, and Express. The Express and Gravity lanes are short and ideal for kids, while the Legend and Ultra lanes are perfect for adults (they have longer, more scenic routes).

If it is your first time, no worries because they give all guests a quick orientation on how to operate the luge to ensure safety on the lanes.

The luge rides were fun! It was worth it. The lanes had safe curves and short tunnels to add some oomph to the experience.

Fun Park at Gamuda Gardens

Once you finish your session, you can grab a froyo from Llao Llao or eat at one of the restaurants at the Fun Park. They have plenty of rides, but most were for children, so we got single passes for the Ferris wheel instead. You might as well go on it when you visit. It's a great way to cool down and see the whole place from higher ground. The pods are made of glass and are air-conditioned.

Others | Safety Reminders

  • The management does not encourage the use of phones during the ride for safety purposes. But if you insist, please be reminded that if you drop your device, they won't be accountable.

  • You can wear whatever you want since it is a relaxed activity, but closed shoes, zipped bags, and comfortable clothes are advisable.

That would be all for today. For more Kuala Lumpur activity guides, check out the blog page.

Thank you!
