Back to the 50s: Filling Station Bar & Cafe in Poblacion
If you're looking for a vibrant place to dine in and catch up with friends, you might want to skip the usual cafe and go here instead.
Have a Glimpse of the Booming 50s at the Filling Station
Filling Station Bar and Cafe is a 50s-themed American diner popularly known for its retro ambiance. Your eyes will wander from the moment you enter to the second you leave. There are so many things to look at, and they are all interesting too. It's like, while you have not lived in that era, there remains an appreciation for the beauty of the objects you see, and that's because they all tell their stories (God knows what).
This establishment never fails to amaze new visitors and returning customers alike. I think I was in college when I first went to this resto-bar with a friend after a gig in Makati. I remember just staring at all the lights and soaking up the vibe. I thought, whoa this is cool. Daming gamit pero di cluttered tignan.
Just the large neon signs are enough to set the mood for a night of good fun.
As you can see, the seating areas look great. Don’t you love the stylish red chairs adorned with all sorts of memorabilia around them? Even the tissue holders are custom-made using old records.
To those who want to make the dining experience more fun, you can opt for the car seats, which they offer for ₱2,000.00 (consumable).
The amount of effort put into setting this place is commendable. There is no dull corner; from the poster-covered ceilings and checkered floors, there is something you could feast your eyes on.

Menu | What is there to Eat?
Filling Station has an extensive menu with almost everything you could think of, like pizza, pasta, rice meals, steak, and noodles. They also serve Filipino food.
To those only stopping by for drinks, the options are just as aplenty as the meals. Most beverages are less than ₱200.00, which I think is reasonable with the serving size.
I have tried the nachos before, and they were okay. I’d suggest going for the loaded potato skins instead; they’re delicious and can fill you up. The Chicken BBQ pizza was also yummy (my friend Hazel’s pick).
Customer Service & Others
The staff members are accommodating and attentive. I haven't had any negative encounters during the times I went here.
One time, we even got to watch a dance number from some members of their service crew, which was cool because they danced in their vintage outfits to old hits.
Others
The bathrooms can only accommodate two at a time;
There are not enough parking spaces, so it would be best to park somewhere close or commute going to the place.
The Verdict
The Filling Station is awesome. I’d certainly want to keep coming back. I'd give it a 8/10.
