ESCAPE Petaling Jaya in Selangor | The Best Playground for Kids & Adults
It is a solid fact that play is crucial in childhood development. It is how we learn concepts and develop different skills that we eventually bring into our adulthood. Can you remember your favorite games as a kid? Or the moments of play you enjoyed the most?
As for me, aside from Barbie dolls and Beyblade, I loved Filipino classics such as Langit Lupa, Chinese Garter, Sungka, and Cherry the Apple (♫...pineapple pine juice, give me a word that starts with letter A! Lol ♫).
ESCAPE Petaling Jaya: An Indoor Adventure Park in Selangor
Join me in Petaling Jaya to be a kid for a day at ESCAPE. It’s one of the best indoor adventure parks in the state of Selangor (Malaysia), let’s go!
Location | Where to find ESCAPE
You can find ESCAPE inside Paradigm Mall. Just go straight from the entrance (near Elle and Starbucks) until you see the sign.
Address: 1, Jalan SS 7/26a, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Attractions Inside the Park
ESCAPE offers twelve thrilling attractions that kids and adults can enjoy. These are the following: Monkey School, Monkey Business, Zoom Bug, Obstacle Play, Zoom Bug, Jumping Jack, Gecko Tower, Airbag, Banana Flip, Aerobat, Atan’s Leap, and Slingshot.
The activities inside range from easy to hard.
Experience & Favorite Attractions
Monkey Business (the rope course for adults) was my favorite. It was fun, challenging, and exhilarating. If you want to conquer your fear of heights, you should do this, and that fear is sure to go away.
My tip is to listen carefully and follow safety instructions. No one is going to assist you once you start the course. You'll have to move your carabiner and pulley on your own as you move along.
We didn’t do Level 3 anymore since we also wanted to try the other activities.
The Slingshot was awesome. We did it twice. The idea of being launched in the air may be terrifying, but I guarantee you, it is also liberating. It's just you, the ropes, and the view. This one is ideal for those who want to loosen up and destress.
If you want to try Banana Flip (the water slide), bring a pair of socks because you will be required to wear them.
Aerobat: A Unique Attraction
If you want to swing in the air, try Aerobat. Not many indoor parks have this, so you’ve got to try it. It's freeing. Like most activities inside the park, they give a quick orientation before they gear you up.
So what you do here is that you jump from a platform while holding the trapeze bar to swing back and forth. You then have to lock your knees and let go of your hands to face upside down. After this, you can go back to the original position and descend.
I had two practice swings at the lower bar before going on the higher trapeze bar for the show (guests were encouraged to participate). When it was my turn, I was having fun until I let go of the bar too early and speed-crashed into the trapeze artist whose hands I was supposed to catch (I hope he’s feeling better now).
We got medals for joining the trapeze show. I thought that was a cool concept. They did their best to make it seem like a proper show. There was music, a team member was assigned to be the emcee, and the other visitors inside got to watch the whole thing.
How to Get Your Passes
Walk-in guests are welcome, but it is best to book online since it is cheaper, and you can pick your dates.
I highly suggest booking ahead of time via Klook or KKDay. No need to print anything. All you have to do is show up.
After your booking confirmation, you'll receive a link where you can upload or take a selfie. This photo will be registered on their system and serve as your ticket.
There's no need to show anything once you arrive at ESCAPE. The ticket barrier uses facial recognition, so you only have to stand in front of the camera to get in.
ESCAPE Team Members
ESCAPE has skillful team members who are all fit and happy to help. Thank you to those who assisted us during our visit.
Other Branches in Malaysia
ESCAPE has three branches. The other two are in Ipoh and Penang. These are the full outdoor versions of the one in Paradigm Mall. We would love to visit any of these next time.
