Communication is Key

Communication is such an interesting subject; it always takes place, yet we rarely talk about it. It's the key to building (or damaging) good relationships, the means to understand oneself, and the ultimate tool for persuasion. We usually associate it with words, but we actually communicate more with our non-verbal cues such as facial expressions or gestures, among others. In simple terms, communication is an exchange of information between two or more people. It can also refer to conversations with one's self. In this post, we'll briefly run through three topics: Intrapersonal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Energetic Communication. This is to better appreciate its significance in improving our lives and enhancing our relationships.

Intrapersonal Communication

This is basically us communicating to ourselves.

Interpersonal communication is definitely a personal favorite of mine cause it includes positive self-talk and creative visualization, both of which are instrumental to manifesting life goals. When we communicate with ourselves, we get a better view of our thoughts, carefully weigh our decisions, and exercise good judgment. Having a conversation with yourself can also reveal your deeper self to you. If you use your ability to communicate with yourself positively, you will plant good seeds in your subconscious mind and benefit from it later. This largely helps in building self-confidence too (again, if done positively!)

Interpersonal Communication

For sure you already know this, but just for the sake of defining it, interpersonal communication refers to the exchange of info and ideas between people. This is what we do on a daily basis. Being present every time we do interpersonal communication is important because it teaches us other life skills along the way, which would surely be useful in our personal and professional lives. For effective interpersonal communication, there has to be a conscious effort on our part to listen to what the other person has to say. Aside from having interesting ideas or good arguments, the mouth has to know when to shut up too because active listening is part of the exchange. Doing all the talking without the intention to listen immediately defeats the common purpose of communication, which is mutual understanding.

Communication is the lifeline of any relationship; without it, the bond is sure to wither, and with it, connections grow stronger. That's the reason why couples who honestly communicate with each other enjoy fulfilling and meaningful relationships, because as they convey their emotions and express themselves, they get to understand each other better. It's the pillar to successful relationships.

Energetic communication

Energetic communication in simple terms is vibration interaction.

It's how we convey our feelings, and messages without even having to speak a word. Sometimes we're conscious when it happens, but most of the time we're not. For those who are not familiar with the word "vibration" in the context of this post, it simply refers to one's overall state of being. It's the complete word version of "vibe".

Our energies are constantly at work (whether we acknowledge this concept or not), and they either attract or repel others'. You know when someone is on the same wavelength as you are, and you know which people you resonate with; this is why we get along with our peers or avoid certain people. You get the idea. Anyway, that would be all for now, thank you for reading today's thoughts. ♡
